Letter to our customers
To my good friends and old customers:
A
good idea came to me when I received a CD from Dr. Rowell, NRC, on
their recently published research which involved using my ADC detector.
In the near future, he will give me a one-page summary to put on my web
site, where I will create a new section called Customer Success
Stories. I invite all my customers to contribute a summary of your
research to share with other customers illustrating successful
applications of my detector. Any suggestions you have for improving my
detectors will be greatly appreciated.
At
Applied Detector, we've been making our products for 40 years. Today,
because so much of my time is needed to make the detectors for my
customers, I'm hoping that the ordering for our product can be handled
through this web site. Since the trade-in offer was made in March, many
previous customers are ordering newer models to replace their old ones.
It is most efficient for me to construct several detectors at a time,
so having firm commitments for orders will allow me to make the best
use of my time. I plan to construct more detectors than are current on
order so that when a new order comes in, I can fill that order the same
day I receive it.
I'm also hoping that after all current orders
are filled, I will be able to visit my customers and observe how my
detectors are being used, so that this information will provide me with
feedback, both good and bad, so that my detectors can be improved in a
timely manner.
Some steps I've already taken to improve these products:
- use of the Kadel dewar
- 2nd stage adjustable gain, 1 to 10
- reduced feedback capacitance, resulting in increased speed
Research
into singlet Oxygen, photodynamic therapy, cancer research, and
nanotechnology are exciting areas of research today. Applied Detector
products will play a vital role in conducting this research. It is my
hope to further the aims of these researchers by arranging for free
loans of my detectors to researchers who lack sufficient funding to
make a purchase. Please contact me if you have ideas for getting my
detectors to researchers whose work can be enhanced with Applied
Detector products.
I
would greatly appreciated getting testimonials from my customers. You
can check on the Testimonials web page to read the letters that have
been submitted to date. Most importantly, contribute to my Support page
with information about the research you are doing with Applied Detector
products, so that others may benefit from your experience.
2nd Letter to our customers
Today
I started a new section on "How to use our detector." I am sending
letters to our experienced users to contribute to this new section on
their best way to use the detector in their particular application. I
would also like our customers to tell me what are the problem areas and
suggestions on its improvement. This section is called "Support."
After 40 years at ADC, I have tried many modifications, some good and some
bad. But I believe there is always room for improvement.
A crucial change in the sales effort is my personal conact. Before the
sales were done by North Coast and other companies, they were reluctant
to make any changes to the design. Now I will listen to every customer
and answer questions I know. Although you can contact me by email -
